Secret Sale is designed to be more than just a discount event. While it initially served as a platform for selling older items, we have found it most effective when used for launching new products. By focusing on new releases, you can leverage the event to boost your brand’s visibility and sales. This strategic approach generates excitement and attracts a wider audience, ensuring your brand stands out in a competitive market.

Benefits of Weekly Product Launches

Releasing at least one new product each week can result in a quick return on your launches before adding the item to your long-term catalog. These items can later be used in smaller discount events without adding to your workload. Ensure there’s a three-month gap between any item’s appearance in discount events to keep things fresh for shoppers.

Balancing New and Old Items

While new products are crucial for maintaining excitement, you can and should still include older items in the Secret Sale. For those new to discount events, all your items will feel fresh to shoppers. If you’ve been participating in these events for a while, avoid repeating an item in any event for at least three months to keep your offerings exciting. Balance your release schedules to ensure you are always presenting fresh and appealing products, providing a dynamic mix that keeps customers engaged and coming back for more.

Market Competition and Innovation

The real-world economic downturn has led to a surge in discount events. Many creators have joined multiple events, causing the same items to appear repeatedly and making stores feel stale. To stand out, Secret Sale must offer something unique. Treat Secret Sale as a platform for launching new, valuable, and high-quality items. By launching these amazing items through Secret Sale for L$99 or less, you generate buzz during the short 3-day launch period, attracting more customers and creating excitement around your brand.

NextUP Events

The NextUP Event is another exciting opportunity included in our marketing package. This event is meant to be fun, creative, and different. Releases for NextUP should feel collectible and not something you would easily find in stores. This is the place to let your artistic juices flow, take risks, and step outside of your normal comfort zone. Shoppers want unique, exciting items they can show off, collect, trade, and sell.

Ideal NextUP Set

An ideal NextUP set includes 12 to 24 items with as few recolors as possible. Aim for at least 2 rares for every 10 common items. The items should form a cohesive set, not standalone pieces. The goal is to make shoppers want to complete the collection. Think of your NextUP set as telling a story—people crave the unusual and the collectible, not the ordinary.

Booths and Pricing

Marketing Clients receive one sponsor circle booth for a new NextUP release and an optional second booth for a second set or a discounted set older than three months. Keep pull prices between L$50 and L$75, and never less than L$50 or more than L$99. Fatpacks should be priced at twice the pull price for common items and three times for rare items, rounded to the nearest 99. For example, a set with 12 items (2 rares and 10 commons) at a pull price of L$50 would price the fatpack at L$1299. While fatpacks are not the main focus, they are crucial for your product catalog and long-term sales.

Long-Term Sales Strategy

Creators participating in the BellaTECH Marketing program should create a special NextUP section in their store to display past sets. These sets will continue to generate in-store income far beyond the event, providing a steady stream of revenue. List your fatpacks on the marketplace and mention that individual items are available in-world via the NextUP system. This approach provides reliable residual income from both marketplace sales and in-store displays, ensuring ongoing engagement and interest from your customers.

The Designer Outlet

Showcasing High-Ticket Items

The Designer Outlet is a premium feature of our marketing package, perfect for showcasing your high-ticket items at a 25% or more discount. It’s an excellent opportunity to attract customers who seek quality and are willing to invest in premium products, while maintaining the exclusivity and value of your brand.

Concept and Strategy

The Designer Outlet is another element of our marketing package. Here, Marketing Clients are given a small shop with 250 prims to set up items at a 25% or more discount. This event is perfect for high-ticket items that you cannot sell for L$99 or less or that have not been on sale for a long period of time. While new items are encouraged, they are not required. This event allows you to showcase your high-price items at a reasonable discount, making them more accessible to customers.

Effective Use of Designer Outlet

Often, items with high complexity, animations, or other features are not practical to sell at the typical discount prices required by weekend events. The Designer Outlet provides a space for these items to shine. By creating a special space for high-ticket items, you can offer significant discounts while maintaining their perceived value. This event helps you reach a different segment of customers who are looking for quality and are willing to pay a bit more for it.

The Gift List

Community Outreach

The Gift List is a special community outreach event designed to connect creators with a broad audience. Open to all Second Life stores, it offers a platform to share high-quality gifts, attracting new customers and fostering goodwill. As a Marketing Client, you’ll benefit from prime placement, ensuring your gifts get maximum visibility and helping to build lasting positive relationships with shoppers.

The Gift List is another special event included in our marketing package. This community outreach event is open to every store in Second Life. For non-marketing clients, there is a one-time fee of L$199 after their application is accepted. They receive our Gift List kit and can add their gift item, which will then appear on our website and HUD. New gifts are highlighted, encouraging creators to regularly offer new gifts to keep their store visible. However, Marketing Clients have a significant advantage: the first 20 places on the Gift List HUD are reserved for them, ensuring maximum exposure.

Unlike many gift-giving events, The Gift List requires high-quality, store-worthy releases. We encourage our marketing clients to create beautiful, high-value gifts that can be given away during their launch month and then placed in-store for regular sale the next month.
